Larson mows the lawn

On Saturdays, Larson mows Mrs. Molly's lawn for twenty dollars, front and back. Usually, Mrs. Molly will bring out some lemonade half way through Larson's lawn mowing, but the last two times she hasn't been coming out. Larson was wondering if it was worth the twenty bucks to be in the heat and not get that lovely icy cold beverage made of lemons.

After posting the sheep puff I was looking through some of my old Structure projects and found a few that I like. They aren't anything crazy special but I like the fact that I cut most of them out of paper! Dr. Rankin really sparked a new sense of creativity in me which I think has helped me be a better designer and artist. So yee haw.

Ok, so they aren't all THAT interesting but so what...I made you look at them anyways.

So a few weeks ago I was talking with my friend Kari Panter who is studying at the University of Alabama to be an art teacher. We thought it would be a good idea to have a paint swap themed to robots! Here's the awesomeness that was created.

The Best project I did in one of my freshman art classes was this piece I labeled "sheep puff". . .

As soon as I wrote that I had to go find it. If I were speaking this directly to you right now, I would have stopped talking and gone directly to my apartment to find this.

Cute right? Well for some reason I think sheep are just funny, so I did another little guy!

Ok, well it turned out a bit rougher than I had hoped but I still like him! Any suggestions for a name?

I'm kind of in the middle of about three or four different projects , ONE of which is getting this blog looking the way I want it to! So, don't fret I will be getting some new material and some more interesting things to read or watch or look at, or heck maybe even something better to sniff.

Summer School

For half of this summer I took a letterpress and printmaking class which I ended up enjoying a lot more than I thought I would. Depending on what you're doing with it, it can involve setting lots of tiny type or tedious linoleum cuts. I produced a few things from this class that I like. Ironically, most of them were in the pre production part.

I'll post the prints later! I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to format this blog so sorry if it's inconsistent or boring. I promise It will get cooler.

A bee's "corbiculae", or pollen-baskets, are located on its tibiae (midsegments of its legs). The phrase "the bee's knees", meaning "the height of excellence", became popular in the U.S. in the 1920s, along with "the cat's whiskers" (possibly from the use of these in radio crystal sets), "the cat's pajamas" (pyjamas were still new enough to be daring), and similar phrases which made less sense and didn't endure: "the eel's ankle", "the elephant's instep", "the snake's hip". Stories in circulation about the phrase's origin include: "b's and e's", short for "be-alls and end-alls"
